and Slide System.
This high performance, low friction
UHWMPE (which has more friction than
Teflon) mainsail luff track and slide system
is built to carry the increased loads and
demands of today’s full batten mainsails.
When installed the mainsail will rise easily
and drop the instant the halyard is released.
The system offers minimal stack height,
less weight aloft and low friction performance
rivalling other systems which cost more than
double. The track can be installed without
going aloft and, in most cases, no holes need
to be drilled in the mast.

Sydney Harbour Slipways
Sydney Harbour Slipways has entered a
new chapter with directors Peter Klumper and
Will Manning securing 100% ownership of the
SHS Marine ser vice facility located in Kirribilli.
Previous to forming Sydney Harbour
Slipways, Peter Klumper managed National
Technical & Ser vice Support for Australia’s
Largest US Marine importer across four boat
brands, with various sales and technical roles
within the Marine Industry for over 15 years.
Will Manning is well known in sailing
and powerboat fraternities as the operator of
Bowline Marine diving and mooring ser vices.
Since 2012 the two directors have built
a reputation on the North Shore and
Greater Sydney Harbour for friendly, tailored,
professional ser vice and quality workmanship
through slipways and antifouling, shipwrights

Derwent Sailing Squadron marina
The Der went Sailing Squadron has
unveiled plans for a multi-million dollar marina
extension which will make it the largest and
most technically advanced marina in Tasmania.
The $6.5m floating extension will double
the size of the existing marina, bringing the
total number of berths to 260. The expanded
marina will accommodate vessels ranging in
size from 6m dinghies right through to visiting
30m super yachts.
Construction is due to commence in Spring
2014, with first occupancy from Autumn 2015.
The plans were unveiled by Commodore
Ron Bugg, General Manager Shaun Tiedemann
and Marina Development Sub-Committee
Chairman Roy Barkas, together with local
maritime engineering consultants, Burbur y
Consulting, and leading global marina
construction firm, Bellingham Marine, at the
clubhouse last month.
Marina occupancy in south-eastern
Tasmania has been nearing maximum capacity
for the last five years.
