Round the World Race – temporary
dry storage space wanted
The Clipper Round the World Race began in London at the
end of August on the first of the 8-leg, 16 individual race event,
heading for Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The brain child of Sir Robin
Knox-Johnson, this is the tenth event, since the inaugural race
in1996 when eight 60ft Clippers left Plymouth for the 40,000
nautical mile journey.
The fleet of 12 boats, all skippered by the only professional
crew member of the 20 sailing on board each yacht, will be
finding their way into Sydney Harbour and mooring at the CYCA
sometime around the 12-15 December 2015.

twice and sailed the Southern Ocean before enjoying a two week
break here in Sydney. The plan while here is to slip the boats and
re-stock before tackling the Sydney-Hobart Race on 26 December.

A quick note to say thank you for a great publication. I have
been reading it for a very long time and always look forward to
the latest edition.

resolution on my iPad is a little uncomfortable to read but I love
how the format is exactly the same as the paper version.

Happy Days are here again ...
I was devastated to leave my boat and my mooring in Brisbane
Water to make the move to Cairns.
However, as luck would have it, after a few months of struggling
to comprehend the loss of what I thought was a local item,
serendipity raised her hand and I’m now happy to know that I
can pick up a copy of this awesome mag at my local chandlery.
Afloat is spread far and wide. I ’m back in high spirits!
