It’s only a peg ... but quite a story
During a visit to Asia back in 2003, Rob
Murrie purchased two packets of large pegs for
use on his launch. He recognised the wider grip
would anchor towels and togs on the bow rail,
instead of using untidy string on the flybridge
for the usual drying purposes.
In colourful plastic, these strong and
practical extra large pegs created much interest
around the yacht club and the wider boating
fraternity at Rottnest Island and a business
idea was born.
In 2004, after some sweaty visits to
industrial areas and certain language
difficulties, minimum import quantities were
managed using overseas local post offices.
Today, bulk orders are placed via internet
and transported by air in LCL containers, co -
ordinated by overseas shipping agents.
King Pin Pegs and the recently added
Super Jumbo Clip are now well anchored in
the market place.
